About Me

I feel like I have always been a person who pays attention to the little things such as how people talk and the things they care about — stuff that seems small but in reality it tells a lot about a person. Since growing up in a big sports family I feel that I have always felt pulled toward the energy and loyalty that comes with being part of a sports community. With my experience in sports medicine and working close with athletes, I have been able to see how much trust and identity are created in sports community as well as how deep these connections go.

Where I Found My Community

Fan culture is something you experience through the people around you. These are the moments that I realized it was not just about a game.

Posing with one of the senior football captains during pregame taping.

It all starts with participation.

Posing with 4 other friends I met through sports med wearing out school uniforms

Engagement turns into belonging and purpose.

Smiling on the staircase with the boys varsity basketball team in the team house.

Community forms outside performance.

Holding flowers with 2 other friends and the head athletic trainers smiling on the football field posing for a picture on senior night.

And it stays with you even after the final buzzer.

Fan culture, it’s more than what you watch - it’s what you’re connected to. This semester showed me how some of the smallest moments can be the path to identity and community.
